QuickTime was also recording this directly on my computer, along with everything I wanted to demo before going live, therefore, I was able to edit out my quizzical looks, long pauses, and things that did not quite work out in the live session. This video starts from when I made the session go live and is unedited.

This next video is what my actual live Hangout On Air session recorded and saved automatically to YouTube once the session ended. Here is my Spotlight Demo on Google+ Hangouts On Air: To document clips of what a participant would see, I used my iPhone to record my tablet, and edited all clips assembled in iMovie. This did create a time lag between the audio and my mouth movements though. Quicktime was able to capture the live broadcast, that featured video of myself and my one stuffed animal buddy participant, as well as to capture the “hangout capture” of my desktop. You can also easily share your video, with uploading integration directly to YouTube.

From reading Rachel’s comments to Grant’s Screenr demo, about Java problems on a Mac, which I also experienced, and Screen-cast-omatic not working out well for me either, I discovered that you can do screen capture with audio using QuickTime Player, a software that is included with Mac computers running OS X. Realizing that I could not just roll out of bed and produce a demo, I had to dump the pyjamas and find the right timing to coordinate this.
